Film Screening of Documentary: "Until Our Final Breath"

Wed Jun 17 2026 6:00PM – 10:00PM | Wed Jun 17 2026

Event Description:

This event is a private premiere screening of the documentary Until Our Final Breath, requested for the Library Viewing Room (LIB‑149). The film is a personal tribute to the filmmaker’s father, Jose Ramon Fontes Jr., a Vietnam War veteran, and chronicles his life, military service, and the family’s faith journey. As an SBVC alumnus and current KVCR employee, the organizer is requesting use of the space for a small, invitation‑only screening for his father, family members, and close friends. The screening is especially meaningful, as several individuals interviewed during production have since passed away, and the organizer’s primary goal is to view the completed film at least once with his father in a shared setting. This request is to schedule up to three private premiere dates for the same event, which has previously been approved and scheduled but cancelled due to post‑production delays. The film is now complete. The event will consist of guest arrival and seating, the film screening, and informal conversation following the screening. Attendance will be limited to invited family and friends only. Vendor Information: There are no outside commercial vendors associated with this event. The filmmaker will provide the digital film file and manage playback using existing Library Viewing Room audiovisual equipment. No vendor setup is required. Food and Beverage Inquiry: No food or beverages are requested inside the Library Viewing Room. However, the organizer respectfully inquires whether it would be permissible for a family member to provide light snacks outside of the library for invited guests before or after the screening. The individual is a family member and the owner of Garnered Goods (https://www.instagram.com/garneredgoods/) but is in the early stages of the business and does not currently hold an SB County Health Permit or business license. This inquiry is submitted for guidance and consideration only, and the organizer will fully comply with campus policies and requirements should this not be permitted.
